Started Re-reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

For the umpteenth time. I've just passed the point where they've been sorted into their houses.

Still cold

Is there no let up, no respite, not end to this cold spell? What I wouldn't give to be lying on a warm sunny beach somewhere right now dressed only in a bikini...having the perfect figure for one too...

Noel Clarke gets shortlisted...

...for Bafta's Rising Star Award, for his writing, acting and directing skills :) I liked him in Auf Pet when he played Wyman.

Playing Rappelz

I had a good long 2 hour gaming session this morning :) The morning is the best time to play because there aren't that many other players on so it's quite quiet and there's no dumb blokes about picking fights and trying to kill me because they're on some sort of weird macho ego trip. It's just me and my pet tortoise against an array of giant killer crows, goblins and skeletor wannabe's ;)

another cold day

you'd think it was still winter ;)

Time to stop using banks?

As savers are being penalized for being careful with their money we're now faced with getting next to no interest because rates are linked to debts too, so we're in effect paying for those who aren't careful with their money. So are banks worth bothering with anymore? It's looking less likely all the time...

UFO?

People are claiming that a UFO hit a wind turbine, causing a one blade to break off and another to be badly deformed! Maybe it's pre-publicity for the next X Files movie?

Haiku poem

The tears ease up
I'm all cried out thank goodness
Now I have to smile

I wasn't crying
For any sort of real reason
only just because

That moment's passed now
I so feel happy again
Let's go to the loo

My make up's ruined
I need to fix it up quick
This eyeliner sucks

Did you see that guy
He was so checking you out
You should flirt with him

All done now at last
This mascara is so great
Now go pull that bloke

Final issue...

of my Taggart partwork DVD magazine, that takes me up to the start of last year, so I'll have to start getting the new DVD releases to keep up with the series...

Almost finished book

I have one chapter of Going Postal to finish then I'll read Making Money. After that I'll start on another re-read of all the Harry Potter books...

New Knickers Here

They arrived in the post just now :) That's how exciting my life is right now when a delivery new knickers are the highlight of the day ;) They're not even sexy ones, just plain cotton everyday ones, I can't wait to get some ultra sexy ones for the summer though :)

Heroes

Just watched the first 2 webisodes of The Recruit, the story ties in sort of with the final episode of volume 3.

My Family

I'm watching season 8 on DVD, it's still as funny as ever :) I hear that they don't want to bring Nick backj now, after years of trying to lure him back to the show! It'd be cool to bring him back for one special though at least, just to feature him for a few minutes and then act like he wasn't there.

Lot of Post part 2

I always seem to get everything I order days, even weeks apart all on the same day! Today stuff I ordered a couple of days ago and over a week ago! Either they horde it until they have a large pile of stuff for me or it's some sort of karmic thing we're not meant to understand...

Going Postal

I'm about to re-read it for the first time. I haven't read it since it was first released in paperback :)

another cold morning

You'd think it was winter or something ;) I need to pop out in a bit too, I hope i don't freeze to death or skid off the road and burn. There's a cheery thought or two ;) Seriously though I can't wait for next autumn, as a hayfever sufferer I live for the deay the last pollenating plant dies off before winter :)

Still on reading Monstrous Regiment

Girls dressing up as boys and pretending to be lads, alas it's all made a little too tongue in cheek to be considered a daring piece of exploratory crossdressing literature, but still it's not a bad book if only for Otto Chriek's impersonation of the Count from Seseme Street!

Preorder

I know I need to save my cash for those shoes but I wanted this first and it's only £8.99.

blurby stuff
Two prisoners meet in a prison cell. Zara is searching for the segments of the Key to Time; she was only born yesterday but already she’s killed hundreds of people. Ace is more ambitious: she was going to kill everyone on the planet.
What have they got against the people of Erratoon? They go peaceably about their simple assignments, beneath their artificial sky. They share their meals and leisure time and they never ask questions. Are they even real?
Ace and Zara will only survive if they can trust each other. Or perhaps if they sell each other out... If not their awful punishment is to become just like everyone else.
I'm really looking forward to this release, it sounds so intriguing...

Seen some great shoes

Only £20 plus p&p, I've so got to save my cash up for them :) I know one of my resolutions this year was to spend less on shoes but I medically need those shoes :)

Road Danger

Several un-salted roads are proving to be very dangerous today, I've already seen one car that's crashed because it's lost control and whacked the curb at such a speed that it's wrecked one of the front wheels, that's going to cost a lot to repair and no mistake. The key is to take your time, drive slower than you think you need to and don't do anything clever like take a corner too fast or overtake someone.

Snow!

Yes, there's snow outside, lots of cold white suffocating death in frozen form. To 'celebrate' the snow here's my poem 'The Last Freeze?'

Come now snow and blanket me
How sweet the crisp air shines true
The frozen sky an icy shade of blue
When comes the snow, wait and see
Harken now to the naked bony tree
The storm cloud bruises for the slew
The land waits to take on winter hue
Only external safety found in the lee
It will pass in time of course you know
Soon the land will warm up slowly
Life returning both green and pretty
The cold wind will have its final blow
Spring arrives in pieces and then wholly
Go play outside now my little kitty

Sunday 4 January 2009

Yellowstone quiet now

which is good news, it looks like we're not quite at the end of the world just yet, which is also good news for me as I've just started re-reading Monstrous Regiment by Sir Terry Pratchett :)

How bad is Stargate Universe going to blow?

The more I read the worse it sounds! It started off like a bad Star Trek: Voyager, then an even worse Space 1999 and now it sounds like a cheap imitation of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace! Why did they cancel Atlantis to make it? Surely they could have kept Atlantis running just until they realised what they were doing and ditched the new show before a single episode aired. Now they're committed to making and I won't be watching it, so there. Knowing my luck it'll be a smash hit success, gain a billion awards and I'll have to pretend I never made this post.

My new clothes came!

And I just had to put them on and take some pictures of myself in them :) I'm wearing a white safari style blouse, a teal ladies blazer and a charcoal grey skirt :) I went for a dull black tie with silver diamond patterning, black socks and my girly grey sports shoes. Alas I look like Frankenstein's Bride after she's eaten one villager too many this Christmas, but I hope to lose some weight come the spring :)

New Knickers

Just bought some new knickers online from M&S, just the boring plain type, I'll get some sexy ones when it gets warmer and I'll appreciate wearing them more. Knickers are my 24/7 lifeline to feminine sanity, without them I think I'd go really crazy and weird in the head ;)

Due Snow Tomorrow

According to the telly, while the BBC is predicting clear skies and bright sunshine! I think I'll be wrapping up warm.

A Sundae Haiku

Thick and creamy sweet
Drizzled with yummy badness;
Sundae is for me
